How to Deep-Clean with MB-2 Alkaline HD
Prep & Inspect
Sweep or vacuum away loose grit. If topical wax or acrylic was applied, strip it first; coatings block chemical contact. Test MB-2 on a discreet spot to confirm colorfastness.
Mix Your Dilution
Light soil = 3 oz/gal (25 mL/L)
Medium soil = 6 oz/gal (50 mL/L)
Heavy soil = 8 oz/gal (65 mL/L)
Blend with hot water for maximum surfactant activation.
Apply Generously
Flood the area with a pump-up sprayer or microfiber mop until joints stay wet. For counters, use a saturated sponge. Allow solution to dwell—heavier contamination benefits from a longer contact window (up to 10 min) but never let it dry.
Agitate for Mechanical Lift
Scrub tile faces with a nylon deck brush; work grout joints with a stiff, short-bristle hand brush. On stone floors, a 175-rpm machine with white pad accelerates productivity on large footage.
Extract & Rinse
Wet-vac slurry or mop it away, then rinse twice with clear water. Final-buff with a clean white pad for a uniform finish.
Protect the Clean
Once the surface is bone-dry, lock in the result with MB-24 Barrier impregnating sealer; routine care can then switch to MB-1 (floors) or MB-5 (counters).
